Special Service With Taft Church

This Thursday night our church had the privilege of having Bro. & Sis. Fisher and their young people for a special service. The service began with our local church praise team starting off the service with praise and worship. We sang "Here I Am To Worship" and "You Are Good". There was a great move of God as people began to usher in the presence of the Lord as his spirit began to move. Next the Taft choral sang a few different songs, I apologize, I cannot remember the names of the songs. They did an outstanding job bringing down the house and taking us to a new level of praise. They were anointed and they set the stage for Bro. Fisher to minister the word of God. Bro. Fisher preached a message entitled "Standing In An Even Place". He reminded us about standing in a place where God has put us and remaining there. He challenged us to keep our integrity throughout everything that we face and let God lead us. The message was encouraging and the alter was full of people seeking that even place where God can use them. We had one young person receive the Holy Ghost and many more were ministered to during the service. Thank you to Bro. & Sis. Fisher and the Taft youth group for ministering to us. We were blessed!

Mom's Birthday

Happy birthday to the one of the most wonderful women in the world. On April 19 we celebrated my mother's 54th birthday. I thank God for allowing me to have such a wonderful mother and friend. She has always been there for me in all the different stages of my life and I appreciate her love and concern. On Sunday night, our church recognized my mother and gave her flowers in celebration of her birthday. We love you mom and we wish you many more years. You are a beautiful person on the inside and out.

Thank you to all who have been praying for my father, Pastor T. Tredway. He has come home from the hospital and the doctors say that whatever was giving him the pain dissolved itself. We know better than that, we know that there were prayers going up on his behalf and the master physician came on the scene. He is back and going strong. Thursday night he preached an awesome message entitled, "Going Beyond What You Can See". He challenged us to walk out in God by faith when we can not see our path ahead. Thanks be to God for the wonderful things he has done. Glad you are feeling better dad, we love you!

Prayer Request

Please keep my father, Terry Tredway in your prayers. He has been in the hospital with severe abdominal pain since Sunday, while the doctors try to figure out what is wrong. He woke up on Saturday with pain in his stomach and went to the hospital. They sent him home later that evening and he was back the next morning. The doctors are undecided about the cause of the pain. Two of the doctors believe the cause is a appendicitis, the surgeon is undecided and another doctor is supposed to examine him later on tonight. Please pray that the doctors find out the cause of the pain and the situation is taken care of. Our family appreciates your prayers.

Where Do You Go?

Reading a fellow bloggers post today made me think of something. Where do people go and what do they do to relax? In the day and time that we live there are pressures all around us. Pressure to meet deadlines and quotas, pressures to perform, and pressures on the job and at school. What do you do to relax and release the tension and stress that builds up during the day or week. Where do you go to when you feel you need to unwind and get away from the normal day routine? When I am stressed and need a moment to relax, many times I find myself sitting at the piano. I can release emotions and feelings through music and find a peace and comfort. Such songs as "If He Carried the Weight of the World Upon His Shoulders", "Peace, Peace, Wonderful Peace" and many other songs begin to touch my soul and make a beautiful melody from the noise of the day. What do you do when you need a time out?

Great Service!

Tonight we had a powerful move of God in our service. Before church I had one of our young people, who has been out of church for a while, call me and tell me that he was coming to church tonight. The spirit of the Lord was moving throughout the service and when he came into service the spirit of God was already strong. My father preached a wonderful message about cleaning out our wells to let the the spirit of God flow freely within us. The message encouraged us to dig out what the devil has put into our wells and find that Joy, Peace, Happiness, Holy Ghost and Worship again. The message was entitled "It's Still In Me!" By the end of the message we were all praying and worshipping our way through the debris of the devil to victory in our spirits. When I looked toward the back I saw this young person with his hands raised crying and praying. He was already in the process of cleaning out his spiritual well. God blessed him and he soon broke through to the springs of living water and began to bubble with the joy of the Holy Ghost. What a wonderful joy it is when you see a young person recommit their life to God. Truly our joy, happiness, praise and worship is "Still Within Us" we just have to keep digging until we find it and release the flow. Thank you Jesus for another wonderful service.
